FloSports is a world-class sports media company strategically positioned to be the essential  destination for passionate sports fans, delighting them with live event coverage, breaking news,  highlights, stats, rankings, and team and player profiles. FloSports is creating the home for college  conferences/leagues and sports like grappling, hockey, track & field, racing, cheer, wrestling,  and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!

THE ROLE:

FloSports is looking for a Content & Social Contractor to support FloElite, our destination for CrossFit and functional fitness competition.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who deeply understands the CrossFit community and knows how to turn live competitions, athletes and storylines into compelling social content that grows our audience and drives fans to watch on FloElite.

You’ll be the primary person responsible for FloElite’s social presence, including ideating, creating and publishing content around live events and maintaining an active, relevant presence between competitions. Because FloElite’s live event calendar is more concentrated than some of our other sports, this role requires someone who can find creative ways to keep the audience engaged even when there is not an event happening every weekend.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own the day-to-day content ideation and publishing for FloElite social channels
• Build content plans around major CrossFit competitions, athletes and storylines with the goal of driving viewership and subscription signups
• Identify compelling narratives before live events and develop content that gives fans a reason to watch
• Cover live events in real time by identifying key moments, clipping competition footage and publishing social content throughout the event
• Work with additional FloSports support when needed during larger live events
• Maximize FloElite’s live event assets by turning full-event replays into highlights, short-form clips, athlete-focused content, compilations and other formats that extend the life of each event
• Maintain a consistent social presence between live events through athlete stories, competition storylines, evergreen content, archival footage, trends and other relevant CrossFit content
• Look for creative ways to keep FloElite relevant and active during gaps in the live competition schedule
• Help establish the athletes, rivalries and broader narratives that make FloElite events feel must-watch
• Develop social-first concepts designed to reach both highly engaged CrossFit fans and broader fitness audiences
• Travel to selected FloElite events to support on-site coverage and capture additional content
• Create original video content when opportunities and resources allow
• Coordinate with FloSports teams on event priorities, assets, marketing needs and broader promotional plans
• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Deep knowledge of CrossFit, functional fitness competition, athletes, events and the broader community
• Strong understanding of what CrossFit fans care about and which athletes, rivalries and storylines can drive interest
• Experience creating social-first sports content, particularly short-form video and real-time event coverage
• Ability to identify compelling moments from live competitions and quickly turn them into engaging social content
• Strong instincts for building anticipation and narratives around live events
• Experience independently managing social content from idea through publication
• Strong video instincts and an understanding of what makes a clip, highlight or social moment perform
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a vertical’s social presence without a large supporting content team
• Ability to stay creative and productive during periods when there are fewer live events
• Comfortable working nights and weekends when live competitions require coverage
• Willingness to travel for selected FloElite events
• Video shooting and editing experience is a plus

BONUS:

This is a contract role designed for someone who can provide consistent weekly support across both live-event periods and the stretches between competitions. The workload will increase around major FloElite events, with the expectation that the contractor remains actively engaged in maintaining the brand’s social presence throughout the calendar.
