SCOPE/CONTACTS:
The Server Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. This role manages hybrid cloud and on‑premises infrastructure, ensures system reliability, security, and compliance, and works closely with Cybersecurity and other IT teams to support business operations. The Cloud Administrator plays a key role in automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across cloud and infrastructure platforms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Administer Windows Server environments, including system configuration, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in accordance with change management standards.
Deploy, configure, manage, and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including compute, storage, networking, and identity-related services.
Monitor cloud-based and on-premises systems for performance, availability, reliability, and capacity; proactively identify, troubleshoot, and remediate issues.
Manage virtual and physical infrastructure including servers, storage systems, backup platforms, and associated hardware.
Administer Active Directory services including user and computer accounts, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
Maintain and support hybrid identity solutions using Microsoft Entra ID Connect, including synchronization health, access controls, and issue remediation.
Implement, administer, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions to meet defined recovery objectives.
Apply and maintain security controls aligned with least-privilege access, secure authentication, and organizational security policies.
Perform system upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and scheduled maintenance activities.
Develop, maintain, and enhance automation using tools such as PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code technologies to improve efficiency and consistency.
Assist in implementing infrastructure improvements related to reliability, scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
Coordinate with Cybersecurity and other IT teams to support vulnerability remediation, security initiatives, and audit-related activities.
Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Provide escalated operational support and participate in after-hours support and on-call rotations as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3–5 years of experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory in enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
Working knowledge of virtualization, storage, and backup technologies.
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting or similar automation tools.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or Microsoft 365 Administrator.
Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
Experience with cost management and optimization in Azure.
