Product Engagement Manager

About the role

Great products don’t stop at the interface. The messages we send, the moments we choose to reach someone, and how easy we make it to take the next step are all part of the experience.

We’re looking for a Product Engagement Manager to make those moments better across Thatch. You’ll dig into where members, employers, and brokers get stuck, figure out why, and build ways to help them move forward. That could mean a better lifecycle journey, a smarter trigger, a new way to reach someone, or a change to the product itself.

You’ll have the tools and ownership to move quickly: digging into data, building in Braze, testing ideas, and working with Product and Engineering when the problem needs a bigger solution.

What you will do

• Find where members, employers, and brokers are getting stuck and understand why.
• Build and test ways to improve engagement and conversion across email, SMS/RCS, transactional messaging, and in-product experiences.
• Own and improve the logic behind how we communicate with people, from targeting and triggers to sequencing, frequency, and personalization.
• Build new ways for Thatch to engage with people, including two-way messaging, RCS, personalization, and language preferences.
• Work with Product, Engineering, and Data when the right solution goes beyond messaging.
• Measure what works, learn from what doesn’t, and use both to decide what to build next.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years working in growth, product engagement, lifecycle/CRM, or a similar role.
• You’ve owned engagement or conversion metrics and can point to things you’ve shipped that moved them.
• You’re hands-on with Braze or a similar platform and comfortable building and testing journeys yourself.
• You’re comfortable using data to find problems, form a hypothesis, and measure whether your solution worked.
• You think like a product builder. You know when messaging can solve a problem and when the product itself needs to change.
• Experience that stands out
• You’ve worked across several engagement surfaces, not just email.
• You can use SQL or analytics tools to answer your own questions.
• You’ve worked on complex customer journeys or products with multiple audiences.
• Experience in healthcare, benefits, fintech, or another regulated industry.
• You use AI as part of how you work.

We aim to keep the process thoughtful, rigorous, and efficient. Most candidates complete it within three weeks. You can expect:

An initial conversation with a recruiter.

A conversation with the hiring manager, including a product review discussion.

Conversations with product, engineering, and cross-functional teammates.

A final conversation with executive leadership.

Estimated Compensation Range

$150,000 — $195,000 USD
