The Mechanical Design Technician prepares accurate drawings, solid models, specifications, and supporting documents for machinery, mechanical components, tools, equipment, and assemblies. This position uses AutoCAD, Inventor, engineering standards, measuring instruments, reverse-engineering methods, and manufacturing knowledge to create and revise production-ready designs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and sanitation policies.
Develop and revise mechanical drawings and solid models using AutoCAD, Inventor, and other approved CAD or modeling software.
Create schematic, orthographic, sectional, assembly, and detailed component views.
Apply accurate dimensions, tolerances, materials, fastening methods, notes, and manufacturing requirements.
Read and interpret customer drawings, specifications, sketches, photographs, and technical information.
Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, sales, and other employees to resolve design and manufacturing concerns.
