What you’ll be doing...
As a Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for managing the health and welfare programs for Verizon’s retiree population. You will develop benefit plan design and strategy for the retiree population and manage all retiree benefit related contracts.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Project manage medical plan projects such as RFPs, implementation of vendor changes and/or plan design changes. Ensure alignment across key milestones and program deliverables, including all privacy, legal, security and related requirements are met.
Monitor healthcare plan vendor reports and recommend plan design changes to address trends. Use data analytics to ensure understanding of impact and outcomes against program objectives. Identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and improve plan performance.
Manage the day-to-day relationships with key suppliers and outside consultants for retiree benefit related work activities.
Support SPDs, SBCs, benefit communications, and other plan documents to ensure that all plan provisions are accurately reflected. Assure corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing employer-sponsored health and insurance benefit plans such as ERISA, HIPAA, Affordable Care Act (ACA), etc. Review state and federal laws pertaining to Verizon’s benefits plans, analyze impact of any changes and provide recommendations to Verizon leadership.
Manage special projects including Annual Enrollment testing to ensure proper plan setup.
Resolve complex escalated retiree healthcare issues.
Manage Collective Bargaining Agreement related requirements for retiree medical plan.

What we’re looking for...
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of job-related work experience, military experience, or specialized training or education (non-collegiate).
Current human resources experience.
Experience in either a corporate employee benefits department, insurance, or with a healthcare vendor.
Experience managing vendors and medical plans.
Willingness to travel.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $111,500.00 - $194,000.00.
