The opportunity

We’re looking for a Product Designer to craft innovative brand and product design solutions for Route’s suite of B2B and B2C products (Package Protection, Package Tracking, Returns). You’ll partner closely with our Design Director to shape Route’s visual identity across products, marketing, sales materials, and prototypes. This is a hands-on role to balance deep craft with modern workflows, accelerate exploration with AI tools, and build systems to guide our growing teams

The team

The Design team plays a big role in shaping not only how Route products look and feel, but also how the team grows together. We focus on building meaningful, user-facing experiences that reach millions of shoppers and top-tier brands, and we operate with high autonomy, low ego, and strong cross-functional alignment. Design always has a seat at the table, and we lean on each other to push great ideas forward.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design and execution of Route’s omni-channel communications and marketing touchpoints such as email, web, in-app messaging, and beyond
• Design elegant, merchant and shopper-facing UI across Route’s product suite, maintaining and scaling our design systems
• Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive, and actionable brand guidelines that ensure brand consistency, clarity, and effectiveness across all stakeholders and applications
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and sales to bring ideas to life and ensure accurate implementation across products, presentations, and other experiences
• Ensure visual experiences are accessible, inclusive, and human-centered
• Contribute to storytelling through motion, illustration, or investor-facing visuals as needed
• Participate in design reviews, QA, and experiments to refine and improve our experiences

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product and brand design (agency and/or in-house)
• Online portfolio showcasing strong visual design, design systems, communications design, motion, and digital product work
• Figma expertise: mastery of variables, auto layout, components, prototyping, AI agent, and design token structures
• Hands-on experience designing for email, web, and in-product messaging, with an understanding of best practices for each medium
• Knowledge of responsive web, HTML, CSS, motion design, and WCAG accessibility standards
• Strong communicator who can operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, After Effects, Premiere) or Cinema4D, Lottie, Framer
• Understanding of lifestyle, fashion, and sports branding trends
• Experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, or shopping platforms like Shopify
• Experience with illustration, motion, and visual storytelling
