Position Responsibilities:
Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions to add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency and sustainability. Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon-owned or colocation data centers. Act as resident engineer during new construction projects. Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.
Provide commissioning support for mechanical system level testing and troubleshooting. Support operational issues through ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, critical equipment, and event support. Interface with internal data center teams (operations, design engineering, environmental). Provide recommendations despite uncertainty/ambiguity. Set priorities and meet deadlines and budget.
