The Amazon Elevated Shopping (éShop) Global Design team is seeking a GenAI Art Director to join our team, supporting the creation of elevated content across Premium workstreams — primarily within fashion and beauty. This role sits at the intersection of human artistry and AI innovation, providing art direction, GenAI execution oversight, and creative guardrail-setting for Premium launches, F2 flagship experiences, and Amazon event moments including Prime Day.
You will define the quality standards, integrate business and marketing feedback, and drive innovation across both traditional and generative AI workflows. This role sets the creative guardrails that AI tools automate against — the taste, judgment, and creative direction that machines cannot replicate.
Key job responsibilities
Art Direction & Concepting — Develop and present fashion-focused creative solutions from initial ideation through to final delivery — clearly articulating creative vision and strategic rationale to business partners and senior stakeholders.
Communication & Presentation — Build and deliver compelling presentations from pitch decks and creative proposals, to stakeholder reviews translating visual concepts into clear narratives that align teams and drive decisions. Confident presenting to senior leadership, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders.
GenAI Execution & Oversight — Create high-quality generative AI assets that align with brand tone and visual standards, iterating on outputs in response to creative feedback and evolving project needs. Define the prompts, evaluate the outputs, and set the bar for what "good" looks like.
Creative Guardrail Development — Develop comprehensive guardrails that define visual direction, tone, styling approach, and quality expectations for execution partners and AI-generated content.
Editorial Delivery — Plan, concept, and execute elevated campaigns and editorial content across seasonal moments — from ideation through to final delivery.
Team Leadership — Inspire junior creative teams and contractors while maintaining premium standards throughout production.
Visual Storytelling — Create aspirational shopping experiences through sophisticated visual storytelling that resonates with the premium consumer.
Innovation — Drive innovation in fashion presentation — exploring new formats, technologies, and AI-driven creative approaches while maintaining brand consistency.
Quality Governance — Ensure consistent visual excellence across all content, acting as quality gatekeeper from concept to publish.
Design & Layout — Work with Designers to create CX mock-ups and design layouts in Figma that demonstrate and align teams around the creative vision. Develop creative storyboards to support motion and video content direction.
A day in the life
Art direct and concept innovative creative solutions in collaboration with your team and stakeholders — from campaign ideation and guardrail methodology through to final delivery.
Oversee GenAI asset creation — reviewing, refining, and approving AI-generated outputs against established quality standards.
Ensure all creative output meets exacting standards and aligns with Premium brand identity and business objectives.
Stay current with fashion, design, AI, and technology trends — identifying opportunities for creative innovation and refinement.
Present creative work and strategic rationale to senior leadership, articulating the vision behind design decisions.
About the team
The éShop Design team is a global creative authority redefining premium brand storytelling. We act as taste-makers — setting the creative vision and establishing the standards that define content excellence across new and bespoke workstreams. We provide creative direction that bridges human artistry with AI innovation: concepting breakthrough campaigns, incubating brand-safe experiences, and developing the pitch materials that shape how Premium content is presented.
Our role is to define the "what" and "why" — the creative vision, the quality bar, and the guardrails that ensure brand integrity — empowering our studio and digital partners to focus on execution excellence.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of design experience
Have an available online portfolio
Experience working with agile development teams (agile/scrum/kanban)
Experience in Adobe Creative Suit applications, with high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat using macOS
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with e-commerce, search, social, and other major application types and their UX patterns
Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touch points on different platforms and devices
Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
