Help shape how Whole Foods Market merchants plan, forecast, and make decisions, and put AI-powered tools in their hands to do it better. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll own the product strategy for intelligent automation, next-generation forecasting models, and the data foundations that connect them. You'll work at the intersection of AI/ML, merchant experience, and supply chain data to build capabilities that fundamentally change how category managers operate across one of the world's most trusted grocery brands.

Your job is to make them faster, sharper, and more confident in their decisions, whether that's through AI agents that surface insights at the point of decision, forecasting models that replace legacy planning systems, or data integrations that give merchants end-to-end visibility from supplier to shelf.
You'll partner closely with engineering, UX research, analytics, and business teams spanning Amazon and WFM to translate complex technical capabilities into tools merchants trust and adopt.
Key job responsibilities
Own the product strategy and roadmap for AI-powered merchant intelligence tools, including adoption strategy, capability governance, and merchant enablement
Lead cross-functional execution of forecasting model migration: defining success criteria, orchestrating data readiness, managing cross-team dependencies, and driving go/no-go decisions
Drive data integration and catalog harmonization initiatives across multiple systems and organizations, resolving complex upstream and downstream dependencies
Define product requirements for new analytical capabilities, including store clustering, category intelligence, and assortment optimization, from problem framing through OP1 commitment
Earn merchant trust through direct engagement: translating technical capabilities into business value, validating solutions in the field, and building feedback loops that inform the roadmap
Navigate a complex stakeholder landscape spanning product, engineering, supply chain, UX, and merchandising organizations across both Amazon and Whole Foods Market
A day in the life
You'll move between strategic planning and hands-on execution in a single day. One hour you're reviewing AI capability adoption trends and refining the product roadmap, the next you're in a cross-functional sync resolving data dependencies with engineering and analytics partners. After lunch, you might walk category managers through a new capability prototype, then pivot to a UX research debrief that reshapes how you think about the planning workflow. You'll regularly translate between technical ML conversations and practical merchant needs. Expect to partner with teams across Amazon and WFM, navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity where there isn't any yet.
About the team
Our team builds the tools and platforms that Whole Foods Market category managers rely on to plan, price, promote, and merchandise products. Our portfolio spans assortment planning, pricing optimization, promotions planning, and space and merchandising execution, all powered by a shared data foundation and increasingly driven by AI. We're at an inflection point: transitioning from legacy planning systems to intelligent, data-driven capabilities that change how merchants work.
We build in close partnership with Amazon's retail, technology, and operations teams. We move fast, operate with high ambiguity, and value PMs who earn trust with both engineers and merchants.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience as a product manager or owner
Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
Preferred Qualifications
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
