Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating new products, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years.
About the team
Network Capacity Services ensures that planned network hardware converts to live capacity — serving traffic when and where it is needed across AWS's global infrastructure. Our systems process demand across 54 network departments, serving planning horizons from material procurement to power planning.
We own the demand management platform (used by hundreds of planners), the network forecast (the signal consumed by supply chain), an escalation system that proactively detects and routes procurement blockers, and a data platform that enables analytics across the network demand lifecycle. Our team is investing in platform modernization (migrating to event-driven architecture on modern AWS services), AI-powered operational tooling, and new capabilities that improve forecast quality and procurement efficiency.
We are a collaborative team that values technical depth, data-driven decision making, and iterating quickly to solve real customer problems.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
