Infrastructure Services is part of IS&T and the foundation of Apple's global network operations — managing data center equipment and systems to deliver compute, storage, and networking services for teams across Apple, including its internal developer community. From individual facilities to a worldwide network, Infrastructure Services ensures the technology underneath everything works without question.

Global Network Services keeps Apple’s world-class Data Center network running smoothly and efficiently. We are a global team of engineers who operate the diverse technology, protocol and vendor stack that interconnects all facets of Apple’s network at a scale that is second to none. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person to join a dynamic and exciting team within Apple’s Global Network Services.

You will be skilled in cross-organizational collaboration, liaising with internal teams and external service providers to operate and maintain the network infrastructure. You will need to develop and maintain clear documentation and procedures associated with operations. This position provides the opportunity to operate a cutting-edge, worldwide, multi-vendor network.

Description

In this fast paced role, you will provide operational support for Apple’s Data Center network to address a wide variety of business challenges. You will be comfortable in a dynamic environment with the ability to multi-task and provide technical support to various businesses within Apple.

This position requires a collaborative teammate who will enjoy working with others around the globe. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and upgrading existing networks to current standards, and sustaining operations, as well as contributing to technical and procedural documentation. In this role you will obsess over minute details and drive operational excellence in every aspect of your work to deliver the best possible customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage Mission-Critical Network Operations: Deliver 24/7 operational support and rapid incident response across Apple’s global data center network, resolving high-impact outages and network anomalies across multi-vendor environments to ensure high availability.
• Execute Infrastructure Lifecycles & Upgrades: Plan, test, and deploy network maintenance, hardware/software upgrades, and configuration changes adhering to BGP routing standards, overlay architectures, and security policies.
• Partner Cross-Functionally Across Global Teams: Act as a trusted technical partner to internal engineering groups, global stakeholders, and external vendors, delivering exceptional support and resolving complex connectivity challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Modernize Workflows via Automation & GenAI: Streamline operational workflows and accelerate troubleshooting by applying configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt, Python) and leveraging modern GenAI tools to drive team efficiency.
• Champion Operational Hygiene & Documentation: Develop, refine, and maintain comprehensive runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and post-incident reviews to ensure consistent operational excellence across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in network troubleshooting
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication and customer service skills
• Understanding of BGP, overlay technologies and security policy handling
• Experience evaluating and managing outages to business critical infrastructure
• B.Sc. degree or equivalent experience
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco, Arista, Juniper or other vendors
• Strong understanding of IPv4 and IPv6
• Ability to coordinate and troubleshoot with internal and external partner teams
• Ability to maintain composure and customer-service focus in stressful and ambiguous situations
• Proficiency with Linux or other versions of UNIX
• Knowledge of configuration management and automation technologies such as Ansible, Salt, Chef and Python, Go, etc
• Experience working in large scale environments and with ITIL incident and problem management

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,200 and $237,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
