Manager - People Analytics

Position Purpose:

The Manager of HR Analytics manages the day to day activities and develop the competencies of the HR Analytics team. The team's primary purpose is to conduct advanced modeling and analytics of HR and financial data in order to provide strategic and actionable insights.

The team consults with internal HR clients to identify strategic information needs, conduct data and process analyses, provide actionable recommendations, and to manage and execute analytical projects that support the organization's strategic objectives and drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• 30% Business Analytics & Insights - Lead analyses, typically of moderate to high complexity, of HR, Payroll and related business data and processes; Analyses focus on identifying trends; determining root causes of problems; and identifying solutions to manage problems and drive effective business decisions
• 40% Design & Development - Coordinate the design and development of dashboards, reports, presentations and visual aids to educate, inform and influence the decisions of HR clients and business leaders; Coordinate the design, development and implementation of analytical tools, technology and business solutions that improve HR and business decisions
• 15% Project Management - Use project management methodologies to involve stakeholders and offer timely communication of project status; Support HR initiatives through project planning and timely delivery with a focus on associate experience, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability; Ensure end to end support that includes communications, change management, and plans for ongoing sustainability
• 15% Supports Team Development - Support hiring and onboarding new team members, as needed; Develop successful team culture; Manage the responsibilities of the team; Coach, mentor and evaluate team member performance
• Direct Manager/Direct Reports: This position typically reports to Sr. Manager of HR Analytics
• This position has 3-5 Direct Reports
• Travel Requirements: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
• Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Working Conditions: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualization or and business intelligence software
• Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and relational databases (e.g., Google BigQuery, etc.) where SQL skills are beneficial
• Familiarity or working experience with generative AI and large language model tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) for automating reporting, code generation, and data storytelling is a plus
• Familiarity or experience with Python, R, or similar scripting languages for predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical analysis and analytics automation
• Familiarity with low-code/no-code workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, etc) to streamline recurring analytical processes is a plus
• Understanding of data governance, privacy, and responsible/ethical AI practices
• Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in evaluating and piloting emerging analytics technologies to advance the team's capabilities
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint using advanced level spreadsheet analytics for developing presentations
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to develop and apply advanced mathematical/statistical techniques
• Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation
• Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
• Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong experience with the statistical analysis and modeling of business data, preferably in areas of HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Finance within a retail or large service based organization
• Highly skilled in translating business questions / problems into analytical models
• Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate others and drive results through competing objectives
• Experience managing analytical projects and developing actionable recommendations
• Experience with designing business reports, dashboards and graphical presentations conveying analytical concepts
• Proven track record of building solid partnerships/relationships and influencing key stakeholders
• Strong ability to manage, lead and develop a team of people building a results-driven team
• 2+ years of previous leadership experience
• Minimum Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
