An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Biomedical Scientist specialising in Blood Transfusion to join a modern and well-equipped private laboratory in Edinburgh. This role is suited to a Band 6 or Band 7 professional with strong transfusion experience and hands-on expertise using Grifols analysers, looking to work within a high-performing laboratory team on a flexible shift basis.
What will your responsibilities be:
- Perform routine and specialist Blood Transfusion testing in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Grifols analysers to ensure accurate and timely test results
- Undertake blood grouping, antibody screening, compatibility testing and blood issue activities
- Participate in all shift patterns, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays where required
