California State University, Long Beach is renovating and expanding its University Student Union, a $235 million project delivered through collaborative design-build, where one team designs and builds the project and works through the design with the University. The project runs from July 2024 to July 2028. It renovates 180,000 gross square feet of the existing building, including 160,000 square feet of indoor space and 20,000 square feet of covered outdoor walkways and seating, and adds 50,000 gross square feet of new space.
The program includes food service, resource centers, offices, lounges, event spaces, conference and meeting rooms, recreation and sports spaces, accessibility upgrades, and new site work.
