Position Summary...
Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring technical excellence through system design reviews and mentorship. Collaborating across teams, you will translate complex user needs into actionable solutions, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement.

The Savings & Incentives team at Walmart Marketplace develops and maintains the incentive operating system supporting seller rewards. The team works across internal tools, seller interfaces, and payment system integrations, impacting marketplace builders and sellers alike. Operating in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and rapid feature releases, the team collaborates closely with product, design, data, and engineering partners.
Members engage in cloud-native architecture, API design, and data-driven decision making to build scalable, resilient solutions that enhance the marketplace experience and drive continuous improvement across multiple systems and teams.
What you'll do...
Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, observability, and maintenance.
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
Lead system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to support automation and multi-step reasoning.
Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics using data-driven practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
