THE ROLE
AMD is transforming how firmware is developed across our CPU, GPU, and system management platforms. For decades, firmware development has relied on hand-written code, manually developed tests, and debug tooling that often trails the silicon it supports. We are reimagining this model through an AI-native approach where code generation, verification, testing, and debug enablement are increasingly machine-driven, allowing engineers to focus on architecture, correctness, and the most complex bring-up challenges.
As an AI Firmware Architect, you will define and drive this transformation. This role is not focused on helping engineers write firmware faster. It is focused on fundamentally changing how firmware organizations operate by redefining workflows, toolchains, verification methodologies, and engineering expectations. You will establish the strategy and technical foundation for AI-native firmware development and prove it through successful deployment on real product programs.
