THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Executive Protection Advisor to provide advisory and close protection services for designated senior executives and, on occasion, designated family members. The role demands exceptional judgment, discretion, and the ability to connect intelligence to operations while executing flawless security protocols in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Reporting to and operating under the direction of the Head of Executive Protection, the advisor works as part of a wider protective and corporate team.
The objective is an exceptional level of protection, preparedness, and judgment, delivered so that those we protect can move through daily life and work with as much freedom and normalcy as reasonably possible.

THE PERSON
This is fundamentally a judgment role. The ideal candidate has provided close protection to highly visible executives across multiple international regions and thrives on adapting to and managing change in a dynamic environment.
Discretion, maturity, emotional intelligence, calm decision-making, adaptability, a strong service orientation, and low ego define success in this role. The right person becomes a trusted colleague to those they protect rather than simply a member of a detail and brings a corporate sensibility to protecting business leaders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executive Protection Services
- Calibrate the protective posture to the moment, expanding it quickly when circumstances warrant and easing it just as readily when they do not, so protected individuals retain normal freedom of movement.
- Conduct advance work for movements, including business travel, events, public appearances, and personal travel, covering venue and route assessment, arrival and departure planning, access and crowd considerations, and emergency contingencies.
- Manage secure transportation and on-the-ground logistics, resolving issues before they reach those we protect, with security-trained transportation available when warranted and normal freedom of movement preserved when circumstances permit.
- Extend the same standard of protective support to designated family members, including secure transportation and accompaniment for both business and personal travel, delivered with a light touch so families are well protected and still feel at ease.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of protected individuals.
- Intelligence and Risk Management
- Manage protective intelligence for domestic and international travel, including itinerary review, route planning, and destination assessment.
- Conduct open-source investigations and monitor public visibility, online activity, unusual approaches, and information exposure affecting protected individuals and their families.
- Translate intelligence into concise briefings and practical decisions that anticipate risk while keeping daily life running smoothly.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as a security advisor at assigned locations and maintain relationships with law enforcement and government entities.
- Coordinate seamlessly with corporate security, executive offices, travel and event partners, support staff, and outside security providers, holding contracted personnel to the same standard of discretion and professionalism.
- Communicate credibly at every level, with the presence to brief senior leaders and the judgment to choose the least intrusive option that still holds the right margin of safety.
- Physical and Travel Requirements
- Maintain fitness, alertness, and focus to perform protection duties through extended hours, long shifts, and irregular schedules, and respond quickly to physical threats and emergencies.
- Travel runs 25 to 40 percent, domestic and international, and deployments can come on short notice, so flexibility matters.
- Agreeable to being on call as needed and adaptable to constantly changing schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience protecting senior executives or other highly visible individuals in a large, complex corporate environment.
- Experience planning and executing executive protection operations end to end, including international and higher-risk environments.
- Experience coordinating external security providers, transportation partners, vendors, and other protection resources.
- Prior experience in the U.S. Secret Service, Diplomatic Security Service, military, law enforcement, or another comparable organizations.
- Strong expertise in protective intelligence, advance work, secure transportation, counter-surveillance, threat assessment, and contingency planning.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including on short notice, and maintain required travel documentation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to provide secure transportation for protected individuals as needed.
- ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Defensive or security driving training.
- Basic medical training, such as current CPR and first aid certification. Advanced medical certifications are a plus.
- LOCATION
- Position is Austin, Texas based, with significant activity in Silicon Valley and across geographies.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
