Job Summary
The Water Treatment Technician II serves as the Certified Operator of Record for the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring continuous compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements. This role performs advanced operational, laboratory, and process control tasks, leads troubleshooting and optimization efforts, and oversees preventive maintenance for wastewater and fire protection systems.
Acting as the lead operator, the Technician provides guidance, mentoring, and validation of documentation prepared by other technicians, while also serving as a subject matter expert during audits, inspections, and agency communications. The position supports broader Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs through training, incident response, data reporting, and actively drives continuous improvement initiatives.
Independent judgment, technical expertise, and accountability are critical to maintaining permit compliance and supporting organizational sustainability goals under the direction of the Manager, ISO Systems & Sustainability.
