SUMMARY: The Patient and Site Engagement Manager is a therapy-aligned expert role tasked with defining, embedding and scaling Patient focused planning into Worldwide’s strategic approach to study planning and successful delivery.

This role is focused on generating both indication level and clinical trial-specific insights to ensure potential barriers to study participation are proactively identified and that tailored patient and site support strategies are recommended and incorporated into the solutions that Worldwide develops for our customers.

This role requires close partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure detailed understanding of the patient journey and so that site-specific needs related to patient engagement, recruitment and retention, are effectively communicated and where possible any risks are reduced with appropriate support or mitigating actions clearly defined and articulated.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Tasks may include but are not limited to: Support the Strategic Feasibility assessment during proposals phase, including providing Study Burden Analysis, and Patient and Site insights, so that patient-focused and site engagement study risks are incorporated.
• Develop bespoke Patient and Site support strategies to meet customer needs and articulate the value proposition for implementing these strategies.
• Present at bid defense or other client meetings as needed.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and establish a robust process with these key functions to ensure patient experience data and insight are systematically captured, collated and shared to inform strategy and planning.
• Understand and evaluate Patient Pathway and trial burden for new study opportunities and communicate associated risks and support needs.
• Maintain existing and develop new strategic relationships with Patient Advocacy groups in assigned Therapy Area
• Ensure indication-specific representation and inclusion aspects are incorporated into Worldwide’s strategic recommendations to our customers.
• Work with cross-functional teams to build FDA Diversity Action Plans, UK Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) projects and other patient engagement-related projects to meet regulatory needs in your therapy area.
• Maintain strong relationships with external vendors providing Patient and Site engagement, recruitment and retention support services.
• Work as an SME in partnership with project teams to translate patient engagement strategies into operational and tactical plans that positively impact study performance and patient/care partner and site experience.
• Establish metrics and track and measure the impact of patient and site support strategies on clinical trial delivery performance.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and communicate potential impacts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.  The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned.
• OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Passion for ensuring patient viewpoint is comprehensively represented in the trial planning and delivery process and have a desire to optimise patient experiences in clinical studies.
• Understanding of patient and site burden risks in clinical trials
• Effective communication skills, both written and spoken English, able to demonstrate the ability to write persuasively.
• Basic understanding of clinical drug development across a broad range of therapeutic areas.
• Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
• Ability to challenge effectively, influence, and build/maintain relationships with senior stakeholders in conflicting priority environment.
• Ability to process information quickly and dynamically adapt to new information.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 8+ years’ of transferrable experience in medical, healthcare, scientific or related field, with preference for experience in Patient engagement, recruitment & retention, feasibility or site-study coordination research roles.
• Knowledge of the principles of Good Clinical Practice.
• Must have competent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.

The salary range for this position is annually (For hourly paid positions, the stated salary range reflects hourly rates):

United States of America - $90,000.00 - $178,000.00

The salary range provided is intended to give candidates an understanding of potential earnings. Compensation will fall within the provided range, and it not a guarantee of exact salary. The final salary will be determined based on relevant experience, performance, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive benefits package depending on location. We ensure pay equity and transparency and comply with all applicable labor laws.
