Associate Vice President, Strategic Growth & Market Opportunity at Vizient | LAYIQ

Design, lead and continuously improve the growth-opportunity assessment process, including proactively identifying opportunities based on VGO and responding to business requests to explore new opportunities.
Serve as the primary accountable lead for integrated opportunity assessments, defining the opportunity, decision questions, scope, evaluation criteria, stakeholders, and required evidence.
Assess the broader organizational connectivity of each opportunity, including relevant client needs, business-unit strategies, existing products and services, capabilities, data and technology assets, client relationships, partnerships, dependencies, overlaps, and potential enterprise synergies.
Coordinate contributions from Market & Client Research, Competitive Intelligence, VGO, internal performance and commercial data, business-unit leaders, Marketing Insights, R&D, Product, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development and other parts of the business as needed to fully inform opportunity assessments.
Develop comparable assessments based on client need, market attractiveness and trajectory, competitive dynamics, Vizient’s right to win, strategic fit, solution implications, potential value, investment requirements, risks, trade-offs, and dependencies, using validated inputs.
Apply a decision framework (e.g., scale, stretch, systematize, and sequence/stop) to facilitate leadership decisions and recommendations on where Vizient should deepen existing capabilities, extend into adjacent spaces, coordinate across business units, develop new solutions, partner, acquire, defer, or discontinue activity.
Establish repeatable, AI-enabled assessment workflows and maintain the opportunity pipeline, decision record, and structured handoff of prioritized opportunities to Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development and/or Business partners for formal strategy development, business-case development, diligence, partnership, or execution.
Your Location: The role is located at our corporate headquarters in Irving, TX or our facilities in Chicago, IL or Centennial, CO.

Relevant degree preferred; Master’s Degree preferred.
10 or more years relevant experience required.
Knowledge of the U.S. healthcare industry and its stakeholders, healthcare economics, evolving client needs, enterprise strategy, and cross-business-unit operating models; understands the relationships among products, services, capabilities, data, technology, partnerships, and markets.
Significant experience leading healthcare related growth strategy, market opportunity assessments, portfolio development, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to identify, frame, evaluate, prioritize, and advance organic, adjacent, cross-business-unit, partnership, acquisition, and other enterprise growth opportunities.
Strong understanding of opportunity evaluation elements, including client demand, market attractiveness and trajectory, competitive dynamics, right to win, strategic and solution fit, potential value, investment requirements, risk, timing, and execution dependencies.
Strong quantitative and financial fluency in market sizing, forecasting, TAM/SAM/SOM, and internal business and commercial data; able to interpret outputs, challenge assumptions, and assess opportunity scale, growth potential, and investment implications without owning the underlying model architecture.
Ability to translate ambiguous enterprise or business-unit requests into clearly defined opportunity hypotheses, assessment scopes, decision criteria, workplans, and actionable recommendations, while recognizing organizational connectivity, overlaps, dependencies, and synergies.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize market and client research, competitive intelligence, quantitative analyses, and internal performance and commercial data into comparable opportunities, strategic options, trade-offs, and prioritization recommendations; effective in leading cross-functional work with Marketing Insights, R&D, Product, business-unit leaders, Corporate/BU Strategy, and Corporate Development.
Ability to operate as a hands-on, AI-enabled leader who personally designs and delivers high-priority assessments, builds repeatable workflows and decision standards, facilitates executive decisions, and communicates complex analyses clearly in writing, presentations, and discussions; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
