Overview
Designs, delivers, and continuously improves engaging workforce learning solutions that support operational performance, compliance, service efficiency, and quality to support the mission of Riverside Healthcare. As a highly visible professional, applies instructional design, organizational development, and performance consulting skills to assess needs, build role-based curricula, and measure outcomes in support or organizational excellence, evidence-based practice, and employee and provider onboarding and retention.
Serves as a talent development partner to leaders and teams across the organization, supporting onboarding, upskilling, and change initiatives including the Epic EHR applications. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. As a salaried professional, you may be expected to work above your FTE.
Essential Duties
Instructional design & content development:
Design to the diverse learner and develop role-based curricula, e-learning modules, instructor-led guides, simulations, and reference materials aligned to workflows, policies, and performance expectations.
Training delivery & facilitation:
Deliver training to clinical and non-clinical audiences (classroom, virtual, and blended); provide demonstrations and hands-on practice; adapt delivery based on learner needs and feedback.
Performance consulting & evaluation:
Conduct needs assessments and performance analyses; recommend solutions; define success measures; evaluate learning effectiveness and end-user adoption; implement continuous improvement.
Organizational development & change support:
Partner with stakeholders to support readiness for new workflows, technology changes, and releases; contribute to communication, reinforcement, and sustainment strategies. ·
Process, workflow & systems understanding:
Develop and maintain working knowledge of assigned workflows, policies, and (as applicable) enterprise systems/applications; partner with subject matter experts to ensure training reflects current-state practice and desired performance. ·
Practice, scenarios & learning tools:
Build practice activities and scenarios; maintain learning tools and training resources (e.g., sandboxes, simulations, or practice environments as applicable) to keep content current and aligned with operations.
Training coordination & logistics:
Coordinate scheduling, registration, classroom resources, and training communications with project teams and department leaders; support onboarding training and ongoing education for updates.
Deliver training to clinical and non-clinical audiences (classroom, virtual, and blended); provide demonstrations and hands-on practice; adapt delivery based on learner needs and feedback.
Maintain education representatives for assigned areas; round in assigned areas to ensure educational materials remain current and accessible; assist with monitoring education completion and follow up with leaders/teams as needed.
Develop and maintain education that supports IDPH/CMS, accreditation, and internal policy requirements; integrate current evidence, standards of care, and quality/safety priorities to maintain survey readiness. ·
Trainer enablement & support:
Train, coach, and support supplemental trainers/super-users; provide at-the-elbow support during go-lives or major changes as assigned; troubleshoot end-user questions related to workflows and processes.
Documentation & governance:
Maintain training documentation and version control; align materials to standards; participate in committees/workgroups to represent training impacts and needs. ·
Data analytics:
Perform, analyze, and report on training data to evaluate effectiveness and ensure desired outcomes. ·
Policies:
Adhere to Organizational Development and Learning policies, procedures, and governance standards and assist with updating procedures and providing recommendations for policies and procedures for other departments to support standard work.
Epic Application and Workflow Expertise:
Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned Epic application, including organizational workflows, system functionality, and related operational processes.
Obtain and maintain required Epic certification for the assigned application and stay current on system upgrades, enhancements, and new functionality.
Participate in workflow design and system build sessions to understand system configuration, workflow decisions, and their impact on end-user performance and education.
Maintain the Epic training environment, including training patients, scenarios, and relevant settings, to ensure alignment with the production environment and approved workflows.
Serve as an Epic application and workflow resource for stakeholders, trainers, and end users, supporting effective adoption of system changes and new functionality.
Non-Essential Duties:
Support go-live, events or major change support outside standard hours as assigned. ·
Assist with special projects, pilots, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned

Required Experience
Proven experience working as a user of a clinical or operational software application.
Ability to develop training materials, including e-Learning modules, required.
Ability to coordinate training logistics effectively, including managing course schedules and resources.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in training.
Ability to work collaboratively within a project team and independently manage training programs.
Organizational skills to manage training schedules, participant records, and course materials.
Demonstrated ability to conduct needs assessments and performance consulting; comfortable using metrics to improve training and adoption.
Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to work independently and in cross-functional project teams.
Experience developing and delivering training for clinical or operational workflows and/or software applications and content.
Ability to coordinate training logistics, schedules, and resources to meet project timelines.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with Riverside Medical Center workflows, processes, policies, and procedures is preferred.
Experience developing and delivering training programs, including virtual and in-person formats.
Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic Preferred), workflows and healthcare workflows.
Education in a related field preferred (education, instructional design, organizational development, healthcare, informatics, or similar) or equivalent experience.
Willingness to obtain and maintain Epic certification in the assigned application module, High school graduate required. Additional education beyond high school is preferred.
Must obtain and maintain EHR System certifications for assigned application(s)
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain role-specific certifications/credentials as assigned (e.g., learning platform, content authoring tools, clinical/operational competencies, or enterprise application training credentials when applicable).
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Psychology, Health Administration, or a related field (preferred). ·
Preferred Certifications: HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA for Revenue Cycle or Training Certifications from ATD or other training professional development organizations
