Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Library Science, Liberal Arts, Social Science, Information Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of experience in libraries, education, social services or fields of similar scope.

Preferred Qualifications : (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
Master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution.
Minimum one (1) year experience working in a library setting.
Bilingual (English/Spanish - speaking, reading, writing).
Experience working on a team and collaborating with others on projects or tasks.
Minimum one (1) year experience developing programs.
Minimum two (2) years experience with technology (email, eBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, personal electronic devices such as tablets, cell phones, and e-readers, library website, Google forms or docs, and integrated library systems (ILS)).
Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Supplemental Information: Licenses and Certificates : Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or appointment. Failure to obtain / maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.
