Library Technical Assistant - Sam Lena-South Tucson Library at Pima County | LAYIQ

Preferred Qualifications : (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
Minimum one (1) year experience working in a library setting.
Minimum one (1) year experience in customer service.
Bilingual (English/Spanish - speaking, reading, writing).
Minimum two (2) years experience with technology (email, eBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, personal electronic devices such as tablets, cell phones, e-readers, library website, Google forms or docs).
Experience using an integrated library system (ILS), such as Sierra, Polaris, SirsiDynix, Millenium, Alma, Symphony, Horizon, Carl, and/or Apollo.
Experience using a cash register and handling money.
Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Supplemental Information: Licenses and Certificates : Some positions may require specialized certification or licensure relative to assignment at the time of appointment or prior to completion of an Initial or promotional probation period. Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or prior to completion of an initial or promotional probation period. Failure to obtain/maintain the required certifications/licenses shall be grounds for termination.
Special Notice Items : This position works rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. Some positions may require bilingual abilities in English and a second language, as determined by the department head. The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Pima County determines whether a position is eligible for visa sponsorship at the time of recruitment. Eligibility is based on the requirements of the position and applicable laws and regulations. Not all positions with Pima County are eligible for visa sponsorship.
Physical/Sensory Requirements : Physical and sensory abilities will be determined by position. Motion Activity - grasping; Speaking Activity - in person and on the phone.
Working Conditions : Primarily works in a public Library environment serving diverse populations. Other working conditions will be determined by position.
