Netflix Animation Studios (NAS) is Netflix's in-house feature animation studio, delivering the exceptional artistry behind big hits like Leo, KPop Demon Hunters, and The Sea Beast.

Media Science DSE is hiring for an embedded role to stand up our data science capability within NAS. How well NAS plans for and manages its growing slate and workforce has a direct impact on the creative and financial success of its films. As a Data Scientist, you'll construct and execute the roadmap for analysis, models, and data products that connect finance, production, and people data into a single system empowering slate planning, operational forecasting, and strategic decision-making for the Studio.

You'll work directly with NAS leadership across Studio Operations and Production to architect the robust data foundations NAS needs to scale its slate with confidence.

• As a Senior Data Scientist in this space, you will…
• Serve as NAS's founding data scientist, partnering with leadership to define and prioritize the studio's metrics & science agenda
• Strategically thought partner to scope ambiguous, greenfield questions - proposing and delivering analysis and science that introduce and influence data-informed ways of thinking

Own the end-to-end measurement agenda in partnership with data engineering - spanning data model design; new metric development, analysis, and forecasting; and the interpretation and dissemination of results

Conduct slate analysis that surfaces drivers of show efficiency as a means to preserve creative optionality across shows

Develop scenario planning models that quantify how schedule changes ripple across the production slate - giving leadership the visibility they need to proactively manage production timelines and workforce allocation

Build dashboards and scorecards that allow leadership to continuously monitor show statuses and potential risks

Present your metrics, models, and analytical insights clearly to a leadership audience, translating complex analysis into decisions NAS can act on Collaborate with data scientists, analytics engineers, and data engineers across Media Science DSE to apply existing metric and viz approaches to NAS, where appropriate

About you…

Advanced degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience)

8+ years of experience as a data scientist, with a track record of developing and executing measurement frameworks, models, and visualization products that directly inform business decisions

• Experience building scenario planning, forecasting, or optimization models in operationally complex, resource-constrained environments
• Strong quantitative and statistical intuition, comfortable moving fluidly between exploratory analysis, new metric construction, model development, and applied problem solving
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical workstreams
• Skilled at building dashboards and visualizations that make complex data intuitive and actionable for a business leadership audience

Excellent verbal and written communicator who is adept at distilling complex analysis into clear, digestible narratives that broad audiences can understand and act on - influencing data-informed thinking across the organization

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $372,000.00 - $600,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.

We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
