Customer Service Specialist
Utilities Assistance Program | STEP, Inc.

Do you enjoy helping people, solving problems, and providing outstanding customer service? STEP, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our Utilities Assistance Program. In this important role, you'll assist individuals and families in accessing utility assistance programs, community resources, and support services that help improve their quality of life.

What You'll Do
- As a Customer Service Specialist, you will: Welcome customers and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
- Assist customers with applications, eligibility screenings, and program enrollment.
- Gather, verify, and accurately enter customer information into agency databases.
- Educate customers about utility assistance programs and available community services.
- Review and maintain customer records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Process referrals, recertifications, and program documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional customer support.
- Help individuals navigate services that address essential household needs.

- Pay Rate: $18.09
- Schedule: 20 hours per week - flexible (5 days x 4 hours or 4 days x 5 hours); start time also flexible within regular office hours
