EDACloud is a large, complex service that requires high availability. Maintaining a high uptime is no simple feat, especially doing it in a way that allows for the growth we're seeing. Planning, attention to detail, and a healthy amount of paranoia are needed for success.
The Electronic Design Automation Cloud
(EDACloud) Operations team plays a big role in the smooth operation of the service, from defining processes for managing incidents to developing automation to ensure upgrades are rolled out safely and slowly. They build out monitoring for internal use as well as for our users to understand the state of the service, and quickly debug when there are issues. They set up and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code, allowing them to manage the massive infrastructure in an auditable, predictable way.
