UCP Oregon is currently seeking a full-time caregiver “Personal Assistant” who will support a charming, older woman who lives in her own apartment in outer SE Portland and experiences developmental disabilities.
She is eager to work with a personal assistant who can help her build confidence traveling out in the community and help her discover and participate in new interests. She values both time spent at home as well as time out in the community, but she needs lots of encouragement to venture out. She also enjoys listening to music, watching TV and movies, online shopping, Starbucks, The Wizard of Oz, and flamingos.
Each day, you’ll assist with personal care and hygiene tasks, administering medications, cooking meals, and tidying up her apartment. She needs full assistance with activities of daily living such as showering/bathing, dressing, eating, and using her adaptive equipment. You’ll also assist in keeping her engaged in her interests and provide companionship and emotional support as she often needs support processing and regulating her emotions.
