Penske Media is seeking an Associate Manager, Finance & Planning to support day-to-day financial planning and analysis for PMC Brands across media, live events, and production-related businesses.
This role is designed for an experienced finance professional ready to take broader ownership, lead recurring planning and reporting processes, and partner with Finance leadership and business teams to turn financial information into clear, actionable business insights.
The Associate Manager will create and track budgets, proactively review expenses for potential savings, own assigned reporting and planning workstreams,and provide decision support to Finance leadership and operating partners. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite in the NYC office 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
Own the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for assigned PMC Brands and departments, including P&L results, KPIs, and clear management commentary.
Lead variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year; explain revenue, vendor cost, margin, and operating expense drivers and recommend actions.
Lead assigned portions of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning cycles by coordinating assumptions, consolidating inputs, and challenging submissions.
Support month-end close by reviewing actuals, accruals, reclasses, and reporting outputs in partnership with Accounting.
Lead detailed sales revenue, production, and expense tracking across productions, events, branded content, media operations, freelance, and other PMC businesses.
Own or coordinate quota planning, commission and bonus calculations, headcount planning, and other cyclical processes.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather inputs, understand trends, identify risks and opportunities, and translate financial information into solution-minded recommendations.
Build and maintain financial models and scenario analyses for revenue, pricing, labor, vendor costs, margins, and profitability.
Prepare management review materials and executive-ready analyses, including presentations and supporting exhibits for Finance leadership and the Board of Directors.
Identify and implement improvements to recurring reports, templates, data quality, and processes to drive efficiency, consistency, and accuracy.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
3+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, investment banking, consulting, or other analytical finance roles; Senior Analyst-level experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, month-end close support, financial modeling, and management reporting.
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including PivotTables and lookups; strong PowerPoint skills; familiarity with AI tools preferred.
Strong attention to detail, data integrity, analytical judgment, and ability to summarize business decisions into clear and actionable financial plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
Collaborative, proactive, solution-minded, and comfortable leading workstreams across different functions in a deadline-driven environment.
Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, OfficeConnect, Salesforce, NetSuite, UltiPro, or similar financial/reporting systems.
Experience in media, entertainment, digital media, live events, production finance, or multi-brand operating businesses preferred.
