The role
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making through robust financial insights. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and driving process improvements across the Finance function.
What you'll be doing
Manage and support the month-end close process, including general ledger integrity and reconciliations.
Perform loan book reconciliations and ensure accuracy of related entries.
Support daily payment processing and cash flow activities.
Act as the key point of contact for external audits and support the audit process.
Prepare financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
Handle compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, including statutory obligations.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
Mentor and guide junior accountants, fostering technical development and best practices.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic finance initiatives as required.
What you'll need to succeed
CA/CPA qualified with 4–6 years’ experience in financial accounting roles.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
