Configuration Management & Documentation Specialist/Tech Writer

Location:

Remote; travel may be required in support of meetings, training, presentations, or briefings with project stakeholders

Required Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the required VA background investigation/suitability determination

Certifications:

Certification in one or more of the following: IAT III, IAM III or IASAE III certifications.

IAT III/ IAM III / IASAE III certifications may be substituted for a relevant Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in IT related field (i.e. Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management).

Required Experience:

Minimum of 5 years IT experience of which at least 3 years are of Configuration Management/Tech Editing experience at a large corporation or Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA.

• A Master’s degree in a related IT field (i.e. Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management). may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience
• Expertise in project management or working in a project-oriented environment, with an understanding of how configuration management fits into the overall project lifecycle

Description

PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Management & Documentation Specialist/Tech Writer to join our dynamic team supporting a large Federal Government client. Provide configuration management, change management, and technical documentation expertise to maintain accurate, controlled, and traceable technical information throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Identify, control, record, audit, and report the status of configuration items.
• Maintain records for hardware, software, system configurations, documentation, and deliverables.
• Develop and update technical processes, configuration standards, baselines, and procedures.
• Support change-control processes and maintain associated documentation and traceability.
• Maintain and support centralized CMDB information in accordance with ITSM practices.
• Coordinate configuration management activities across technical and project teams.
• Perform documentation reviews and quality-control activities to ensure accurate technical artifacts.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain required VA background investigation/suitability and system access.
• Experience with configuration/change management and technical documentation in IT or software development environments.
• Experience with ITSM practices and centralized CMDBs.

Preferred Qualifications

• VA/Federal technical documentation experience.
• ITIL certification.
• Experience with automated configuration or compliance tracking tools
