DevSecOps Engineer

Location:

Remote; travel may be required in support of meetings, training, presentations, or briefings with project stakeholders

Required Clearance:

Ability to obtain and maintain the required VA background investigation/suitability determination

Certifications:

Certification in one or more of the following: IAT III, IAM III or IASAE III certifications. IAT III/ IAM III / IASAE III certifications may be substituted for a relevant Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or related fields.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of DevSecOps experience of which at least 5 years are of Cybersecurity and Cloud Security experience at a large Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA.

Description

PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting a large Federal Government client. Apply expertise in software development, cybersecurity, cloud security, and automation to integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle.

The DevSecOps Engineer will work closely with developers, security engineers, architects, and operations teams to embed security controls into development workflows and help our government client deliver secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Integrate and automate security tools, controls, and testing within DevOps pipelines.
• Support containerized and cloud-native environments using secure development and deployment practices.
• Perform and support security assessments, vulnerability management, remediation, and incident response activities.
• Support source code repositories, Git, version control, and automated build and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with developers, security engineers, cloud architects, and operations teams to resolve security risks.
• Develop and maintain documentation for DevSecOps processes, pipeline configurations, and security integrations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of DevSecOps experience of which at least 5 years are of Cybersecurity and Cloud Security experience at a large Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or related fields.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required VA background investigation/suitability and system access.
• Expertise with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native environments.
• Experience integrating security tools into DevOps pipelines and automating security processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• VA/Federal DevSecOps experience.
• Infrastructure-as-Code or security-as-code experience.
• Experience with automated security testing and cloud-native security tooling
