LOCATION:

APPLY is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone).

THE ROLE:

APPLY is looking for a UI Designer with a strong graphic design foundation and deep fluency in AI-powered creative tools. This is a visual craft-first role, distinct from our Product Design track: it's built for someone who thinks like a graphic designer, communicates like a brand strategist, and moves fluidly between brand exploration and interface work.

You'll help shape brand identities from the ground up - stylescapes, brand books, live workshops - while also flexing into UI and product design work using both traditional and agentic tools. You're as comfortable in Figma as you are prompting Midjourney, Figma Weave, or Veo 3, and you bring an agency consultant's instincts to every engagement: fast, collaborative, and client-ready.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Brand & Visual Design

• Design stylescapes, moodboards, and visual explorations that set creative direction for client engagements.
• Build and contribute to brand books and visual identity systems.
• Plan and actively participate in brand workshops with clients, translating live discussion into visual concepts in real time.
• Use generative image and video tools — Midjourney, Figma Make, Figma Weave, Veo 3, and similar — to rapidly explore and produce concept visuals, campaign assets, and creative options.
• Product & UI Flex
• Flex into UI and product design work as engagements require, using Figma alongside agentic tools like Claude Code, Claude Design, and Figma Make.
• Apply structured agentic workflows (e.g., BMAD) to move quickly from concept to production-ready design.
• Partner with product designers and developers to keep visual and brand craft consistent across UI deliverables.
• Tool Fluency & Craft
• Maintain a broad, current vernacular of AI design tools and evaluate new ones as they emerge.
• Bring strong graphic design fundamentals — typography, color, layout, composition — to every deliverable, brand or digital.
• Client & Consulting
• Present concepts and creative rationale directly to client stakeholders.
• Work as part of an agency/consulting team across multiple concurrent engagements.
• Contribute to a design culture that treats AI tools as creative collaborators, not shortcuts.

REQUIREMENTS: Must haves:

• 8+ years of design experience, with significant time in an agency or consulting environment.
• A strong graphic design foundation — typography, layout, brand systems, visual composition.
• Hands-on, portfolio-demonstrated experience with generative image and video tools: Midjourney, Figma Make, Figma Weave, Veo 3, or comparable tools.
• Proven experience creating stylescapes and brand books, and leading or participating in brand workshops.
• Working proficiency in Figma, with the ability to flex into UI/product design tasks when needed.
• Exposure to or hands-on experience with agentic AI design workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Claude Design).
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for client-facing work.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Nice to Have
• Experience with BMAD (Breakthrough Method for Agile AI-Driven Development) or similar agentic delivery frameworks.
• A portfolio that spans both brand/graphic design and UI/product design.
• Familiarity with additional generative tools (e.g., Runway, Sora, Adobe Firefly).
• Front-end or prototyping familiarity.
