The Director, Automation Program Management will lead
Store Automation Programs and the Field Reliability team
, connecting maintenance execution with long-term strategies to improve performance across Walmart’s store automation network.
This role oversees regional field maintenance, automation programs, reliability and supply chain support, and depot operations—setting direction, developing leaders, and ensuring teams have the resources, standards, and support to execute consistently.
Success requires a leader who can move between technical details and business decisions—understanding site-level challenges, identifying broader opportunities, and translating insights into practical improvements across the network.
About the team:
The Automation Asset Strategy & Reliability team ensures Walmart’s store automation systems operate safely and reliably at scale. Supporting the Accelerate Pickup & Delivery (APD) program, the team leads maintenance operations, reliability initiatives, spare parts strategy, and warranty recovery for automated storage and retrieval systems. They prioritize system availability as a key outcome, connecting field technicians and maintenance leaders with programs, technical support, parts, and vendor processes.
This collaboration helps prevent failures, restore service promptly, and sustain automation throughout its lifecycle, driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:
Provide strategic direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs to develop and implement effective program management plans.
Lead cross-functional teams to prioritize, scope, and evaluate enterprise-wide projects, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Drive continuous improvement by assessing operational processes, identifying opportunities, and implementing best practices.
Collaborate with senior leaders to define success criteria, manage risks, and communicate program requirements to stakeholders.
Oversee talent development initiatives, including mentoring, workforce planning, and succession strategies to build a skilled workforce.
Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and high performance through coaching and ethical leadership.

Minimum Qualifications...
