ROLE OVERVIEW

As our founding partnerships lead, you’ll report to the CEO and have a pivotal role in scaling our new B2B offering that sits on top of our B2C marketplace.

We’re excited to enter the $400B+ corporate training market. Companies are looking for a new, premium learning option for the AI era. Async content libraries see minimal engagement, and homegrown training is impossible to scale. Maven offers live, expert-led training that stays fresh and specific for each function.

In the last 3 months, we’ve closed $500K+ in Maven for Business sales from 10+ pilot partners with <1 dedicated FTE. These all came inbound, and we’ve seen great results in improving AI fluency across their teams.

You’ll spend the majority of your time working directly with companies - sourcing, selling, onboarding, expanding. The remainder of your time will be building and improving the system that allows us to scale faster. We expect this role to evolve into a player/coach role as we expand the team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• This is a great opportunity for someone excited to shape a sales process end-to-end at a scaling startup. Responsibilities include:
• Creative sourcing
• prioritize from our existing inbound leads, build your own outbound prospect lists, and refine our target customer along the way
• Consultative sales - work with L&D and functional leaders and help them decide if, and when, Maven is the right fit for their company goals
• Account management
• prepare a smooth onboarding and rollout, check in to understand what’s working, and set us up for expansion
• Sales operations
• develop and implement systems to efficiently manage your pipeline, including inbound qualification, outbound outreach, and direct sales
• Product insights
• convert the learnings from your sales calls into specific insights that we can use to improve our product and packaging
• You’ll join our new B2B pod that includes the CEO, operations lead, marketing lead, design lead, and 2 engineers. You’ll report to the CEO, Rishin
• , who has been leading our sales motion so far.
• This role may require some travel to partner sites and/or conferences.
• WHO YOU ARE
• We are open to multiple types of backgrounds, but experience selling into companies is required. Some expectations:
• Sales track record
• you’ve proven your ability to sell both inbound and outbound, navigating multi-stakeholder deals and complex sales cycles

• you thrive in ambiguous, early-stage environments, where the playbook still being written
• Exceptional communication
• you share ideas clearly and confidently, in written and verbal form, externally with prospects and internally with team
• Analytical rigor
• you’ve investigated open-ended questions, generated insights, tracked your progress, and improved systems you’ve owned
• Competitive drive
• you bring a hustle and hunger to win, and a desire to improve the product and processes around you
• Bonus points if you have successfully sold into corporate L&D departments.
• TEAM & CULTURE
• Maven is a small, high-trust, high-ownership team (currently 20 total). We move fast, write often, and bias toward action. You will be expected to both think strategically and own end-to-end processes as part of your role.
• We post regular status updates to dedicated Slack channels to get input. If you’re blocked, everyone is there to help (but otherwise we’ll assume you’re on it). This makes Maven a great cross-functional learning environment. Expect direct feedback every single day!

We are fully remote, with no-meeting Wednesdays and company demos on Fridays. We gather for a week-long offsite twice a year, where we discuss strategy, pitch new ideas, and get absurdly competitive over random games.
