Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The primary function of a professional nurse in Employee Health will be assessing, planning, directing and evaluating all yearly requirements for employees to be in compliance with OSHA, CMS and JCAHO. The Employee Health nurse will conduct all pre-employment screening in conjunction with Human Resources. Assess and evaluate employee’s physical ability of all job categories 3 and 4. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
3 years of nursing experience in a hospital clinical setting/additional training in clinic or Employee Health preferred. 2. Membership in related professional organization preferred, i.e., AOHP. 3. Working knowledge of OSHA, CMS and JCAHO preferred. 4. Able to travel between the facilities; must have valid, current driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance 5.
Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license. BSN preferred. 2.
Effective January 6, 2017, must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University. 3. Must have and maintain current certifications, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program (for any and all certifications applicable through the AHA program) – please check all that apply: BCLS/CPR Must be current upon hire and thereafter ACLS If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience -
obtain within 12 months of hire; nurse with over a year of experience - obtain within 6 months of hire; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times PALS or ENPC If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience - obtain within 12 months of hire; nurse with over a year of experience - obtain within 6 months of hire; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times NRP If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience - obtain within 12 months of hire, nurse with
over a year of experience - obtain within 6 months of hire; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times TNCC If required in unit, must have and maintain certification within eighteen months after hire; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times STABLE If required in unit, must obtain within 12 months of hire, or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times CPI If required in unit, nurse with a year or less of experience - obtain within 12 months of hire;
nurse with over a year of experience - obtain within 6 months of hire; or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times SAMA If required in unit, - obtain within 30 days of hire 4. Must have and maintain current BSLC certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
