Job Summary

Maintains follow-up for analytic patients within the cancer registry to meet the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS) and Florida Cancer Data Systems (FCDS) requirements. Supports Cancer Registry staff with tasks such as assembly and distribution of American Joint Commission on Cancer Staging forms, mailing of Cancer Registry treatment letters, and other tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Require a minimum of three (3) years of secretarial experience, preferably in a healthcare institution and/or cancer program.
• Require previous computer experience with Windows/Microsoft Office operating systems and internet research.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer previous business courses or an Associate’s degree.
• Prefer a knowledge of medical terminology.
• Prefer competence in all software used by SMHCS network.
• Prefer the ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
• Prefer the ability to coordinate a variety of tasks.
• Prefer strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to work independently and perform detail oriented tasks.
