Overview
Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~16,800 employees create world-class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Learn more about what we do.
Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.
We are seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to contribute to the development of the next generation of computational electromagnetic (CEM) solvers that power Keysight's simulation portfolio. This role focuses on the core numerical engine, including Finite Element Methods (FEM), Method of Moments (MoM), Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD), sparse matrix solvers, meshing technologies, eigenvalue and eigenmode analysis, high-performance parallel computing, and advanced boundary condition formulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computational electromagnetics, numerical methods, scientific computing, and software engineering, with a passion for developing robust, scalable, and high-performance simulation technology. You will work on the numerical infrastructure and algorithms that enable the efficient and accurate solution of Maxwell's equations for complex electromagnetic systems.
A major focus of this role is enabling simulation technologies for superconducting quantum processors, resonators, couplers, packaging structures, control and readout networks, and cryogenic microwave environments.
While the end applications are quantum-focused, the work itself centers on advancing the solver infrastructure, numerical algorithms, and software architecture that make these capabilities possible. You will work alongside experts in computational electromagnetics, quantum engineering, applied mathematics, and scientific software development to create scalable, production-grade simulation technology used by researchers and engineers developing the next generation of quantum computing systems.
