Benefits Strategy & Program Management

Plan Design & Strategy: Evaluate, design, and implement competitive health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability) and retirement plans (401(k), pensions) tailored for a large-scale workforce (1,000+ FTEs).
Open Enrollment: Project manage the end-to-end Annual Open Enrollment process, including broker strategy, system setup, broker negotiations, and bilingual communications.
Cost & Budget Management: Manage multi-million dollar benefit budgets, conduct continuous utilization analysis, forecast expenditures, and recommend cost-containment strategies without compromising plan value.
Wellness & Engagement: Develop and execute holistic employee wellness initiatives designed to boost participation, retention, and workforce productivity.
Vendor Management & Operations
Manage relationships with insurance brokers, TPAs, carriers, recordkeepers, and wellness vendors; lead RFP processes and contract renewals to secure favorable terms and service level agreements (SLAs).
Partner with HRIS and payroll teams to ensure seamless data integration, accurate benefit deductions, and automated reporting systems.
Compliance, Risk & Governance
Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local benefit regulations, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, Section 125, and IRS guidelines.
Lead all annual audit processes, non-discrimination testing, Form 5500 filings, and mandatory participant disclosures (SARs, SPDs).
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits, legal reviews, and ERISA fiduciary standards.
Bilingual Stakeholder Management & Communication
Bilingual Leadership: Communicate complex benefit strategies, plan performance metrics, and cost trends clearly to both U.S. leadership and Korean HQ executives in both languages.
Employee Relations: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for escalated employee benefit inquiries, claims disputes, and sensitive leave/disability cases, ensuring culturally competent and empathetic support.
Localized Collateral: Oversee the translation and adaptation of complex benefit guides, educational materials, and policy documentation into both English and Korean.
