AWS Professional Services (ProServe) is seeking a ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) specializing in the semiconductor and high tech manufacturing vertical. You will engage directly with organizations such as NVIDIA, Intel, Qualcomm, Marvell, Analog Devices, Micron, Samsung, GlobalFoundries, KLA, ASML, and TSMC to design and deliver cloud solutions tailored to this industry.
As a PCA you operate as the conduit between ProServe Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams (SDT), ensuring solutions are realistic, achievable, and maximize customer business outcomes (CBOs). You serve as a trusted advisor on industry trends, emerging technologies, and the regulatory landscape.
This is not a role for a semiconductor hobbyist. It requires a professional who understands how fabs, IDMs, and EDA vendors operate as businesses: design-to-tapeout economics, wafer and fab capacity models, IP licensing and export control regimes (ITAR/EAR), EDA tool licensing structures, and how cloud infrastructure underpins chip design, verification, and high-volume manufacturing. That business fluency, combined with cloud architecture expertise, is what makes this role distinct.
Your success will be measured by SOW signings, successful solution delivery, and customer satisfaction (CSAT).
Key job responsibilities
As an experienced technology professional, you will be responsible for:
Designing scalable, secure AWS solutions for semiconductor and high tech manufacturing customers, accounting for EDA workload performance, export control compliance, and high-volume production data patterns
Providing technical guidance during pre-sales and implementation, translating semiconductor business structures (design-to-tapeout economics, fab capacity models, EDA licensing) into solution architectures
Leading migration-at-scale of EDA workloads to AWS — orchestrating with Landing Zone Accelerator (LZA), AWS ParallelCluster, Research and Engineering Studio (RES), License Manager, and Cloud Ops/FinOps best practices for EDA — moving customers past POC and benchmarking paralysis into production scale
Collaborating with Account Managers and SDTs to ensure proposals address IP protection, export control (ITAR/EAR), and data privacy obligations unique to semiconductor design and manufacturing
Advising customers on emerging technologies: EDA-to-GPU workload migration, Industry 4.0 and digital twin technologies, IoT/edge computing for smart manufacturing, and AI/ML for yield and process optimization
Sharing knowledge through mentoring, training, and reusable artifacts that capture the regulatory and business patterns unique to this vertical
A day in the life
As a PCA in the semiconductor and high tech manufacturing vertical, no two days look the same, but your time centers on customers, partners, and solving real problems:
Engaging directly with customers to understand their EDA and manufacturing cloud journey, identify pain points, and scope solutions that deliver measurable value
Partnering closely with ProServe Account Executives (PAEs) to align on opportunity strategy, develop statements of work, and drive deals through the pipeline
Deep diving into customer environments to assess level of effort for EDA workload migration or Smart Manufacturing modernization, define solution architectures, and build business cases that articulate the ProServe value proposition
Delivering opportunity scoping and solution design focused entirely around the customer, solving their specific problems rather than selling generic services
Working across organizational boundaries with Solution Architects, WWSO, Account Executives, and delivery teams both inside ProServe and across the broader AWS sales organization
Engaging directly with C-suite executives, fab and IDM CTOs, EDA vendor technical leads, and manufacturing operations executives inside each semiconductor and high tech organization to build trust and drive outcomes

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field
Experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects
Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
Experience with software development life cycle (sdlc) and agile/iterative methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of compliance and security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR
Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (like TOGAF, Zachman) and identifying the relationships between business services, information, applications and global infrastructure assets
Experience with enterprise systems including SAP, Oracle, and custom applications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
