The Research Administrator I supports investigators and staff through the entire grant and contract proposal submission process. Facilitates the administration of a varied portfolio of sponsored awards. Independently supports and assists investigators through the entire proposal submission process Manages competing priorities while providing excellence in customer service to internal and external customers. Ensures activity records are accurate, appropriately organized, and recorded in a timely manner.
Assists in the development of the documentation of protocol, templates and additional resources. Reads, interprets, disseminates and/or applies federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory documents. The Department of Chemical Biology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Administrator I to join our dynamic team. Job Responsibilities:
● Assist in management of grants and sponsored programs (e.g., preparation and review of proposal documents including budget, monitoring of subawards, award lifecycle management), under some supervision.
● Read, interpret and apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements to support investigators and other relevant teams.
● Coordinate with research teams and sponsor institutions to support in issue resolution.
● Assist in negotiating standard terms & conditions associated with basic non-industrial sponsored research agreements to ensure consistency with institutional policies.
● Provide support to develop, prepare, revise, and finalize project budgets and provide budget justifications.
● Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
● Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
● Bachelor's degree required. We welcome applications from upcoming graduates.
Minimum Experience:
● Some experience with grants and sponsored program administration and related regulations preferred.

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $26.00 - $45.50 per hour for the role of Research Administrator I.
