The Koch Internship Program

(KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program.

The R Street Institute is seeking a Digital Communications Intern to support its digital communications, multimedia, and online engagement efforts. This role will assist with social media, graphic design, video production, website publishing, digital marketing, and analytics.

The ideal candidate is a versatile digital generalist who can take a piece of content, such as an article, video, podcast, or event, and help turn it into a strong package of digital products across multiple platforms.

This internship can be remote, or in person in our Washington, D.C. office.

Responsibilities: Draft social media copy for R Street research, events, videos, podcasts, and media appearances.

Assist with editing short-form and long-form video content, including captions, clips, and other platform-specific content. Create and edit branded graphics, thumbnails, and other social media assets.

Publish and update content in WordPress, including articles, videos, podcasts, event pages, and staff bios.

Assist with social media, website, and video analytics and reporting.

Help organize digital assets, content calendars, and shared files.

Proofread public-facing content for accuracy, formatting, links, and branding consistency.

Qualifications: Candidates should have:

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms.
• Experience creating visual and multimedia content, particularly video and graphics.
• A portfolio or examples of previous video, graphic design, or other digital content work are highly encouraged.
• Comfort appearing on camera and participating in video content when appropriate. Previous on-camera work or examples are also encouraged.
• Basic graphic design skills, ideally using Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
• An interest in digital communications, public policy, journalism, marketing, or related fields.
