Structural Steel Welder / Fabricator

Starting Pay:

$24.00/hour, higher depending on experience

2nd Shift Differential:

+$3.00/hour

Position Overview

We are looking for experienced

Structural Steel Welders/Fabricators to build and assemble steel components in a production fabrication shop. This hands-on position involves working from drawings, preparing and fitting steel, checking dimensions and alignment, and completing structural welds.

Responsibilities: Review blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications before beginning work.

Measure, mark, cut, fit, align, and assemble structural steel components.

Perform structural steel welding according to project requirements and applicable standards.

Set up and operate fabrication machinery, equipment, and hand tools.

Work with oxyacetylene torches, plasma cutters, drill presses, angle presses, jigs, tape measures, and squares.

Set up and operate a track torch when required.

Inspect dimensions, fit-up, alignment, and completed assemblies for accuracy.

Make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and quality.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Follow shop safety procedures and required workplace practices.

Coordinate with supervisors and other fabrication team members to meet production schedules.

Required Qualifications: Previous experience in structural steel welding, fitting, or fabrication.

Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.

Hands-on experience measuring, fitting, aligning, and assembling structural steel.

Knowledge of welding processes, fabrication machinery, and shop tools.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate dimensions.

Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to work efficiently in a production-focused fabrication environment.
