Summary
The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for supporting all service and operations objectives including housekeeping, organization, shipping and receiving, inventory controls, and staging materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for keeping the warehouse interior & exterior clean, organized and maintained
Properly stores and labels all materials, supplies and products.
- Replenishes, restocks and rotates all inventory to ensure that it will be used before expiration date (FIFO)
- Moves, sorts, organizes and stores inventory in the proper location. Notifies supervision of damaged inventory or inventory nearing expiration date
- Strips wire and sorts scrap material
- Charges batteries
- Wraps, bands, and palletizes batteries
- Operates forklift and pallet jacks
- Provides assistance to Operations Departments when needed
- Stages equipment and materials to ensure scheduled work is “job ready”
- Checks in all inbound shipments
Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
Observes and abides by all company policies and safety regulations
Assists with packing, moving and setting up of furniture, cabinets, equipment, etc.
Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education, Skills, and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to use a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse associated equipment preferred. Reliable with a good work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communications. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Must have the ability to repeatedly lift up to 75lbs. Able to work with coworkers in a professional manner.
