Overview
The Endoscopy Technician works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse while carrying out designated skills that they have demonstrated competence in their Unit Specific Training Program. The Endoscopy Technician directly assists the physician during a procedure. They also work independently in preparing the room for the patient and ensure that all equipment and supplies are appropriate and in proper working condition for the scheduled procedure.
The Endoscopy Technician must know the specifics for the procedure scheduled as well as the physician conducting the procedure. This individual must possess personable skills to comfort patients during stressful situations. The individual must follow strict guidelines to maintain Infection Control. The Endoscopy Technician must demonstrate proper handling and care of equipment.
