Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) support, conduct, coordinate or manage the clinical research studies or trials on human subjects. Principal and co-investigators provide the overall direction in a clinical study, but CRCs can have significant roles in clinical study activities.
Stanford University Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Division of Thoracic Surgery is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator Associate to perform duties related to the coordination of clinical studies. The individual will coordinate moderately complex aspects of at least 4 studies simultaneous. He/she will work under close direction of the principal investigators and/or study coordinator supervisor. He/she will also assist PIs, thoracic surgical residents in preparation/submission of grants and research manuscripts.
The individual will ideally have some knowledge of medical terminology. Many recent college graduates have done this position for 2-3 years then successfully applied to medical school.
Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification is preferred but not required.
Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.
Frequently sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
Occasional evening and weekend hours.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations.
