Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on the Release & Quality team, you will design, implement, and own the systems that get high-quality mobile releases into customers' hands safely, predictably, and fast, while accelerating development and integration by transforming the way we build mobile apps with AI. You will build and improve the release pipeline, automated quality gates, and testing enforcement that hundreds of teams and AI agents across Amazon depend on to ship to the iOS and Android Shopping apps.
You will develop automation, tooling, and frameworks that raise the quality bar, including shift-left checks, AI-based test execution, and automated release-health signals such as dial-up monitoring, so issues are caught early and release decisions are automated and data-driven.
You will take ownership of features and components end to end, from design through implementation, testing, and operation, and drive them to production. You will dive deep into release incidents to find and fix root causes, hold a high bar for the accuracy of the signals your systems produce, and partner with TPMs and partner mobile teams to keep our tooling reliable. You will also help raise the team's engineering standards and mentor more junior engineers as we create mechanisms to release mobile apps at scale.
Our team owns the release, quality, and testing-enforcement systems used by hundreds of teams across Amazon to launch the latest features on the Amazon iOS and Android Shopping apps.
We keep releases predictable and safe by building automated quality gates, robust release tooling, and release health monitoring, setting the new standards of how we release mobile apps while raising the bar on quality as we adopt AI to develop apps at Amazon.
We are on a mission to change how customers shop on mobile. We take on problems no one has solved, make the hard calls, and ship something better than what we started with. Interested to change how we ship mobile apps? Join us!
