The Donor Operations department at MD Anderson Cancer Center plays a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring a safe, reliable blood supply for patients undergoing treatment. The Northwest location serves as a key community-based collection site, offering donors a convenient way to contribute while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
This Blood Donor Technician position offers the opportunity to work in a patient- and donor-facing role where compassion, technical skill, and customer service come together to make a meaningful impact. You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for delivering a positive donor experience while supporting lifesaving blood collection efforts.
In this role, you will perform pre-donation screening, venipuncture, and post-donation care
, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with established SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines. You will accurately document donor information, monitor for adverse reactions, and address non-routine situations with professionalism and attention to donor safety.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
