PRIMARY FUNCTION(S):
To assume diagnostic patient care responsibilities in the Department of Hematopathology in the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine by serving as a diagnostic hematopathologist. The candidate will also develop a research program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Patient Care
- Must be a self-motivated, highly energetic, committed, and conscientious professional who communicates (verbal and written) and relates well to others at the professional, technical, and administrative levels.
- Must be able to visually review, evaluate and correctly interpret medical records, patient data, patient specimens and other test results based on previous training, experience and knowledge.
- Must be able to visually identify specimen make-up, contents and/or components viewed through a microscope and integrate this information into diagnostic and biologically relevant information.
