Role summary:
Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. What you'll do:
Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to support automation and intelligent features.
Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and track success metrics.
What you'll bring:
Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to deliver scalable and resilient platforms.
Strong proficiency in Java and other programming languages, with experience in software design patterns and API design.
Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure tooling, and AI/ML integration to build intelligent automation solutions.
Skilled in conducting design reviews and software prototyping to ensure quality and alignment with architectural standards.
Ability to apply data-driven decision making to optimize engineering processes and product outcomes.
Effective collaborator and mentor, fostering technical growth and driving engineering excellence across teams.
