LAYIQ - Medical Assistant (MA) - – Mercy Clinic Orthopedics at Mercy

Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and updating medical and medication histories
Preparing patients for exams and assisting with provider evaluations and procedures
Performing basic diagnostic testing as appropriate and documenting care accurately
Reinforcing provider‑directed patient education
Maintaining clean, well‑stocked exam rooms and adhering to safety and infection‑prevention standards
Assisting with scheduling tests, referrals, follow‑ups, and supporting front‑office operations
Participating in quality initiatives, staff meetings, and other MA‑related duties

Work Environment: Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.
Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.
Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.
Physical Requirements: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
